“Howgwarts will always be there to welcome you home.” - JK Rowling
The Good: Ah… a decade of cinematic greatness all boils down to this. The HP Film saga has experienced its shares of highs and lows. Yet no matter, every film is magical. To say that HP7.2 is epic is an understatement. It’s the book brought to life, every secret revealed, every question answered and every loose end tied. The film was respectful, moving and loving. It ended the story of Harry Potter with a full stop. Not with an exclamation point. The way the author has meant it. My favorite part of the film was not the battle scenes, majestic as they are, but the final scene at King’s Cross. I’ve always disliked it in the book, but when I saw it on-screen, it was haunting, beautiful and heartbreaking. After Harry Potter, I think it will be a long time before there will be another film saga of this magnitude.
The Bad: Only one: I just wished Voldemort’s parting scene was bigger. It was so quiet. It didn’t quite justify Harry Potter & Co.’s efforts. The fight scene in the Ministry of Magic in HP5 between Voldemort and Dumbledore was more satisfying.
